Lessons and Passes
If you are travelling by ski train it is possible to ski on both Saturdays of your holiday. An 8 day pass would allow you to get up the mountain on your arrival and leaving days. Beginners There are a number of free lifts on the nursery slopes so most beginners will not need a full lift pass for the first couple of days. Most people with less than 4 weeks experience are better off getting a local area pass as you are unlikely to get the full benefit of the ‘Espace Killy’ pass which links the neighbouring resort of Tignes. Beginners do not need expensive equipment and should always have lessons pre booked during the school holidays. Beginner 3 hour adult group lessons are available from 0930h or 1400h Sun-Thus or Mon-Fri and cost around from £114. Intermediates Intermediates will need a lift pass and will usually want at least a local area pass. It is always possible to upgrade on a daily basis to an ‘Espace Killy’ pass to explore Tignes. Most ski schools offer a range of options from private lessons to 2 or 3-day courses for brushing up on your technique. Technique clinic 2 x 3 hour lessons available from £55. Advanced Advanced skiers may prefer an ‘Espace Killy’ pass although snowboarders may be quite content with the off piste and snow park in the local area. Advanced levels should also consider private lessons for specialist tuition in handling bumps, off-piste or race training. Private ski lessons - 1 hour for 1 person from £30 (cheaper for 2 or more) Lift Price Guide The lift pass is free for adults over 75 and children under 5. All passes from 2 days and over require a recent passport size photograph. All prices are in Euros. WINTER 2006/2007 ‘ESPACE KILLY’ LIFT PASS

If you are travelling by air or day train then a 6-day pass would be
adequate. It is very unlikely you will have time to hit the slopes on
your arrival day as the lifts close at around 1645h. However, there are
free lifts on the nursery slopes that stay open later if you want to
brush up on your technique.
