Skiing and Boarding
You can take a chairlift to ease your way to a walking trail to view the mountain wildlife of marmottes and chamois. There is also a beautiful lake where you can spot wild eagles and vultures. Let us organise every detail of your trip including transfers to and from the airport, accommodation, lift pass, insurance and equipment hire. We can even advise you on the types of bars and restaurants to suit your individual tastes. Ski and Board Hire There is a vast choice of equipment for all levels available at most of the hire shops. It is vital that you have comfortable and well fitting footwear as your boots will help to control your skis or snowboard. Good circulation is also a must if you want your feet to stay warm so I recommend wearing a lightweight pair of wool/polyester blend socks with your boots. There are skis and boards designed for beginners, intermediates and experts. The type of the equipment chosen depends on its use under certain snow conditions. The hire shop will help you chose your equipment and will often replace equipment that is uncomfortable free of charge. As the most common injury to snowboarders is broken wrists it is worth buying a pair of wrist guards and also hiring a helmet to protect you from falling backwards. In the summer months Val d'Isère sheds off its winter coat and plays
host to fishing competitions, petanque tournaments, film festivals,
flower markets and village festivals (fêtes). The cafés and restaurants
open their doors so you can bask in the warm summer sunshine.
